Description
Elisa is the chosen one.
But she is also the younger of two princesses, the one who has never done anything remarkable. She can’t see how she ever will.
Now, on her sixteenth birthday, she has become the secret wife of a handsome and worldly king—a king whose country is in turmoil. A king who needs the chosen one, not a failure of a princess.
And he’s not the only one who needs her. Savage enemies seething with dark magic are hunting her. A daring, determined revolutionary thinks she could be his people’s savior. And he looks at her in a way that no man has ever looked at her before. Soon it is not just her life, but her very heart that is at stake.
Elisa could be everything to those who need her most. If the prophecy is fulfilled. If she finds the power deep within herself. If she doesn’t die young.
Most of the chosen do. (Goodreads)
A little over a month ago I read this amazing book called The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I was blown away by Rae Carson’s writing style, how I was so easily sucked into this world that built up around me to the point that I thought about the book long after I read the final page. If you would like to view my review you may do so here. Today Rae has come by to tell us the top ten things she needs in order to make her magic happen.
Top 10 Things Rae Needs In Order to Write
10. A shower (Srsly. A shower totally wakes up my brain.)
9. Beverage (In the morning: coffee. In the evening: vodka Gatorade.)
8. Sleep. (It's sooo hard to write when I haven't slept enough!)
7. In winter: A snuggie (don't judge me)
6. In winter: A space heater
5. Music to match the mood of the scene
4. MacBook Pro (named "Woobie")
3. A fuzzy, snuggly kitty
2. Vodka Quiet space
1. A positive outlook
Thanks so much Rae for stopping by and letting us see a little visual of what puts the pen to paper so to speak. Below is a video of Rae talking about her book The Girl of Fire and Thorns.
All the stops on this tour have been great! Go check them out!
