This Weeks Question:
Have you ever had a character that disappointed you? One you "fell in love" with and then "broke up" with later on in a series or stand alone book? Tell us about him or her.
First

Not any one character…just the whole series. Why, there is just to much of it. I think I am just over that whole thing. Especially stalker Edward!
Second

Katniss Everdeen in this last book just was not the heroine she was in the first two books. It was like she was a different character all together.
Can’t wait to read your answers!
Happy hopping,

Great answer Rebecca!

I've been putting off reading books 2 and 3 of the Hunger Games series because everyone I've talked to says that the plot kind of fell off a cliff after book 1. Glad to know I'm not missing out on anything.

ME TOO on the Twilight thing. My FF is all about Edward. *shudder* Nothing sexy about a freaky stalker.

"Especially stalker Edward" LMAO.

Awww -- stalker Edward...LOL
ReplyDeleteI never felt much Twilight love to begin with. I still like Katniss, though her character development took some odd and pointless turns. Old follower! My Follow
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on both occasions!!

I don't think I could ever fall out of love with Twilight.

Stalker Edward is right! :) We had a huge discussion about this at one of my library meetings - if he was a regular boy, would this be normal behavior? No! They'd be calling the police! But, its fun to fall in love with a vampire. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Follow Friday!
I completely agree! I chose Gale from The Hunger Games.

Have a nice weekend, Sharon
Hopping through. I agree with you on Katniss in Mockingjay. It's like she gave up at the end.

"stalker Edward" hehe :) !!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on both characters :) !! I felt like Katniss had changed in Mockingjay, which is normal after all she's been through, but I didn't like that Katniss as much ..
I totally agree with the whole thing about Twilight - by the end of the series I'd gone from being completely in love with the books to hating them. I'm now at the point where I don't think I could even stomach a re-read!
ReplyDeleteAs for Katniss, I can totally see where you're coming from, though I personally picked on Gale.
Tara @ Hey, Tara
Katniss really felt different in that book, and wow.. Don't get me started on Twilight! *g*

Lol, I chose stalker Edward too! And I totally agree with Katniss. One of the reasons I liked THG and CF was because Katniss was so badass, but in Mockingjay, she changed. :(
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I'm seeing that a lot about Katniss and the third book. I think that's partially why I never read them.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, Edward was a total stalker!
Here's my Friday Hops

I slightly agree with you on Katniss but then again she went through A HECK OF A LOT! Suzanne Collins couldn't keep her too sane or it wouldn't have worked :/

I'm not a fan of the twilight series so I couldn't say but I really need to read the other.

Agreed with Katniss. But I do understand why she is so different. Many people have attributed it to PTSD which makes a lot of sense.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!

I'm a HUGE twilight fan and yes I would say that Edward only disappointed me because I was not his Bella J/K New follower here via GFC and Linky.

ReplyDeleteI wan't real pleased with Twilight myself. So far I am on the last book of the hunger games and have not passed my judgement on whether I like it or not. I suppose that will be determined sooner as opposed to later. Thank you for sharing.

haha yeah I liked Edward but slowly changed to Jacob. He was a bit stalkerish and controlling. I was disappointed with the way Katniss handled Gale. I loved him and she just blew everyone off.

I completely agree about Katniss! I was so disappointed with the way she behaved in the last book, especially in regard to poor Peeta.
ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
Guess my twilight hate has rubbed off on you!!! Good picks :)
ReplyDeleteStalking, sparkly Edward and Whiny, immature Bella :p
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right, I loved Katniss in the first book, still in the second but I was disappointed in the last one.
I agree on both accounts. I do still love the Twilight series, but I'm a Jacob girl and was totally upset at how things went down in the last book!

Happy Reading!
